The Promised Fund

What is it

When kids in foster care turn 18, the system says they “age out.” But what that really means is they’re suddenly on their own no family to lean on, no savings account, no stable housing waiting for them. For many, it feels like being pushed into deep water without a life jacket.

The Hard Reality

  • Every year, around 19,000 young people age out of foster care in the U.S.

  • Within just 4 years, about 1 in 4 will experience homelessness.

  • For many, it happens even faster — 11% to 36% become homeless in their first year.

  • At 19, former foster youth report a median savings of only $100, while most of their peers have hundreds or even thousands saved.

  • Less than half even have a bank account, compared to over 80% of their peers.

This isn’t because foster kids aren’t capable. It’s because no one has ever taught them how money works or given them the resources to step into independence.

Where Your Donations Go

💙 Funding Financial Classes
Your support provides monthly financial awareness classes starting at age 10. These classes teach real-world skills:

  • How to budget and save

  • How to build credit

  • How taxes work

  • How to set financial goals like buying a car, renting an apartment, or paying for school

💙 Building The Promised Fund
Every child in the program has a trust account set up in their name. With each year of participation, funds are deposited into their account. By the time they turn 18, they not only know how to manage money they also have money saved to take their first real steps into adulthood.

  • Funds are not handed out all at once.

  • They are distributed only for approved purposes like housing, education, career training, or a first car.

  • This ensures donations are used responsibly and create lasting stability.

The Impact of Your Support

When you give to The Promised Fund , your donations directly provide:

  • Financial classes that prepare kids for independence

  • Awareness training so they understand credit, savings, and taxes

  • A trust account that grows with them until 18

  • Safe, stable housing as they transition into adulthood

Instead of leaving care empty handed, afraid, or alone, these youth will step into their futures with knowledge, money, mentorship

Your donation isn’t just charity it’s a lifeline that changes the direction of a young person’s entire life.
